Peter is a retired electrician who moved into the area in November 1998, in an apartment with a gorgeous view of the park, which got him involved in efforts to improve the park and deepen its relationship with the surrounding community. He started attending meetings with his wife Nancy and served as Vice President of the council for two years before being elected President in January 2003.

Nancy always thought Wissinoming Park was a precious green space that deserved to be protected, and became a volunteer more than 10 years ago to help with clean ups, community events and tree preservation. She previously held the office of Secretary for 6 years.

Nancy Leigh has been a resident of Wissinoming for 9 years. Along with her husband Peter, she found her interest in the park piqued by the view from their apartment window. Becoming a member of the Advisory council in 2001, her recent employment as the parks' part-time caretaker and adoption of a dog (Clyde) has only reaffirmed her love of the park.
